We were the trusted advisors of the CEO and Executives in the Latin America region called upon to conduct important strategic and advisory engagements. We conducted multiple projects for MasterCard to help them gain competitiveness in the Latin American region. Subject areas included: developing market models for each of the countries to ensure MasterCard plays a major role in the payments business as the country develops; assessing joint venture and new business opportunities to help MasterCard enter new businesses; creating an information system to ensure pinpoint control

We were Sr. Advisors to Executives at Kroll. Their challenge was to turn their very deep and varied functional expertise into consulting revenue. We developed a joint strategy to develop executive’s consulting capabilities as well as abilities to sell consulting services. In multiple training sessions, the executives were thoroughly trained in these subject areas. Simultaneously, we advised Kroll leadership in how to integrate the various individuals of the organization into a more cohesive and well functioning team.

For HSBC Mexico we developed a groundbreaking scheme based on consumer needs analysis to segment its retail customer base into discreet groups to whom services, offers and products could be targeted. The Managing Director of the Retail bank who was an advisory client was quoted as saying after he received our recommendations, “we finally have someone who understands us and our market”.

This multinational bank benefited from our services during various advisory engagements to improve profitability, operational effectiveness and its ability to manage consumer campaigns. Much of our work required the integration of executives with conflicting goals and objectives and needed alignment around common corporate goals.

SafetyPay’s CEO engaged Mark Advisory Services to help the company with its strategic thinking. Their issue was to develop a strategy including communications approach, people plan, targeting strategy to engage merchants and banks in a dialogue to adopt a new payment scheme. During our engagement we developed and implemented strategies for various verticals including airlines, technology companies, multi level marketing firms, gaming companies.

Scotiabank took over one of Mexico’s banks in the early 90s. The prior bank had suffered through years of government ownership and multiple CEOs. When the new owners took over, the country was opening up its markets and the bank needed to prepare itself for a highly competitive environment. We were advisors to the CEO and Chairman of the board and laid out a comprehensive turnaround program to restructure the enterprise and regain profitability.
